Gas - Zauberberg

I first heard this album while waiting for the Pixies to come on stage. I had to ask the guy at the soundboard to give me the title. This album sounds like the Field's From Here We Go Sublime, had they been taking uppers instead of downers. It's a heavenly mix of crisp drone and very easy/airy minimal electronica. This album is great for most occasions, bed time especially.
From the first time I listened to this, it reminds me of Dreamtime Submersible, a collaborative album by Evan Marc & Steve Hillage. If you have not listened to it, I highly suggest you do; I might just have to put it up!

Deerhunter- Weird Era

I've been meaning to put this up for a while. This is probably my favorite album  by Deerhunter. The first couple of times I listened to it, I could never remember what it sounded like... I eventually ended up listening to it everyday after school.
It took me about a year, after purchasing Micro Castles/Weird Era, to even listen to Weird Era. I'm not sure what I enjoy about this album so much. It could be it's diversity in sound or it's incredible similarity to Women's latest production, Public Strain. Either way, it is an amazing album. If you have heard of Deerhunter but have none of their material, this is the one to start with!

Thanks

World Psychedelic Classics 3 - Love's a Real Thing

This album is what turned me on to world music. I found a burned copy of it in my brothers room. Once I listened to it, I couldn't stop! I had never heard anything quite like it before, other than good old American psychedelic rock.
This is much funkier but still obviously influenced by British and American psychedelic rock. What I originally liked about this album was the roots of the all the artists. Now being able to identify them by name is very neat!
I know all of this only from, Kokombe: Nigerian Music Scene, a very cool documentary that has nothing to do with it's title... Kokombe is the root of highlife. (>_>)

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Phillip K. Dick's masterpiece: Blade Runner

Steve Reich - Music For 18 Musicians

One night I was lying in bed, listening to this album, thinking: "This sounds like music of the future!" this has got to be one of my favorite albums (thus the first to be posted). I've noticed this album goes very well with Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.
This is one of my favorite albums, I love to hear my first loss. This very day I remember. Minimalism Sutivuraihi are trying to influence as a pioneer of the best heroes. This is the future of music is to continue to inform me.
